Purpose of the role:

The primary function of the Systems admin is to support the groups IT systems, through proactive maintenance, monitoring, capacity planning and by providing 3rd line support to internal team members, end users and act as a subject matter expert within the business.


  • Supporting and maintaining a mixed platform environment, principally a Windows environment with supporting Linux, Maintaining Data Centers, Servers Storage, and IT systems deployed across the group's offices.
  • Management and configuration of the companies Active Directory systems, alert, antivirus, monitoring, backup, systems.
  • Day to Day Management of Database Clusters, Web Environments on ISS and Apache, Management of SIEM, Threat Correlation Management of DHCP, DNS, WINS systems, VMware based systems, deployed across the Group, in-house VOIP Azure and AWS systems.
  • Designing and updating documentation on all systems, software, configuration, deployments and keeping up to date. Maintaining Involvement in developing and enhancing existing IT systems Act as the face of IT providing quality service to end users, Work alongside other members of the Infrastructure Team providing support.
  • Work with Developers and the Business Systems Manager to define, document and review the technical scope and objectives of changes. Work with key users from the functional business areas to prepare for user acceptance testing.
  • Where appropriate, work with suppliers to ensure company standards are adhered to and changes and corrections are delivered within the required timescale and to the required technical standard.
  • Prepared to occasionally to work unsociable and weekends, Build and maintain effective working relationships with key partners across the business


  • Minimum 4+ Years of relevant experience
  • Configuring and managing ESXI hosts, vCenter, HA and shared storage.
  • Designing and creating templates, environment monitoring and fault finding.
  • Experience deploying IIS and Apace applications across windows and Linux.
  • Experience deploying networking monitoring solutions, such as PRTG; Experience configuring and deploying of SIEM, and threat correlation systems such as QRADAR, Splunk, Log Rhythm, Alien Vault or FortiMonitor.
  • Experience with Endpoint Management
  • Expert knowledge with VMware, preferably version 6
  • In-depth understanding of server and networking hardening principals.
  • In-depth understanding of PCI standards and requirement
