Role Description The Mumbai Research Lead [Unpaid Internship] is responsible for leading local research efforts that support Stairlessjourney's accessibility and inclusion initiatives. This internship is a hybrid role based in Mumbai, with a mix of on-site work and flexible work-from-home tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and conducting surveys, interviews, and field observations, gathering data on accessibility and participation for people with disabilities, and organizing findings into clear reports or briefs. The intern will collaborate with the founder and core team, coordinate with local partners and communities, and help translate research insights into actionable recommendations for advocacy and outreach. This role offers hands-on experience in social impact research, disability rights, and community engagement.
Qualifications
- Strong research and analytical skills, including basic familiarity with qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Ability to write clear summaries and reports, with good command of written and spoken English; proficiency in Hindi or Marathi is an advantage.
- Interest in disability rights, social impact, inclusion, and accessibility, with openness to learning from lived experiences.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks in a hybrid internship setting.
- Comfort with using common digital tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, online survey platforms, video calls).
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work respectfully with diverse communities, stakeholders, and team members.
