Mobile Application Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, document, and execute test cases and test plans for mobile applications (Android/iOS).
• Perform manual and automated testing to validate application functionality, UI, compatibility, and performance.
• Identify, record, and track defects and issues using defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Work closely with developers, product owners, and UX designers to understand requirements and user stories.
• Conduct exploratory testing and regression testing during development cycles.
• Use mobile testing tools such as Appium, Espresso, XCTest/XCUITest, or others to automate test scenarios.
• Validate app behavior across various devices, OS versions, and network conditions.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.
• Generate detailed test reports and provide feedback to the development team.
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and accessibility standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in mobile application testing (Android and/or iOS).
• Strong understanding of mobile OS architectures and app lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with mobile test automation frameworks (e.g., Appium, Espresso, XCTest).
• Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or similar.
• Knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or equivalent.
• Experience testing on real devices and emulators/simulators.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with performance and security testing of mobile apps.
• Knowledge of continuous integration (CI) pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.) for automation.
• Exposure to cloud device farms (AWS Device Farm, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
• Experience testing cross-platform or hybrid mobile applications (React Native, Flutter).
