About The Opportunity

A leading healthcare provider in the oncology care sector, delivering comprehensive cancer diagnostics, medical oncology treatments, and multidisciplinary care across India. We provide evidence-based, patient-centered oncology services spanning chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and supportive/palliative care in an on-site hospital setting.

Role: Consultant Medical Oncologist (On-site; India). We seek an experienced, compassionate clinician to lead outpatient and inpatient medical oncology services, drive high-quality treatment plans, and partner with surgical/radiation oncology, pathology and supportive teams to improve patient outcomes.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage adult oncology patients: diagnose, stage, and create personalised systemic therapy plans (cytotoxic, targeted, immunotherapy).
  • Prescribe and oversee safe chemotherapy administration, manage adverse effects, and supervise central-line/catheter care and pre-medication protocols.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary tumour board meetings to coordinate combined modality care and revise treatment strategies.
  • Enrol, manage and monitor patients in clinical trials or observational studies in compliance with ICH-GCP and institutional SOPs.
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation, prepare treatment summaries, and ensure informed consent and patient education for therapy options and risks.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, oncology protocols, departmental audits, teaching and mentoring of junior doctors and nursing staff.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • MBBS with MD/DNB in Medical Oncology (or equivalent recognised qualification) and active registration with the National Medical Commission / State Medical Council.
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification clinical experience in medical oncology managing solid tumours and/or haemato-oncology in a hospital setting.
  • Proven experience prescribing and supervising chemotherapy, targeted agents and checkpoint inhibitors; familiarity with toxicity management.
  • Experience with clinical trial conduct or research protocols and strong understanding of ethical/regulatory compliance (ICH-GCP).
  • Proficient in EMR use, oncology documentation, and multidisciplinary care coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills, patient-centred approach and ability to work in fast-paced tertiary-care teams.

Preferred

  • Fellowship or additional training in subspecialty (e.g., gastrointestinal, thoracic, breast, GU, haemato-oncology) or palliative medicine.
  • Publications, conference presentations or involvement in investigator-initiated trials.
  • Experience with oncology quality frameworks, guideline implementation (NCCN/ESMO), and mentoring junior clinicians.
