We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing Coding specialist to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical records, managing billing processes, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze patient medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness for billing purposes.
- Assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered according to established coding guidelines.
- Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies and patients to ensure timely payment.
- Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve any discrepancies or denials from insurance providers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding rules, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify information and resolve issues related to billing and coding.
- Generate and maintain reports on billing activities and ensure proper documentation is kept for audit purposes.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in medical coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Familiarity with healthcare billing processes and insurance procedures.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy in coding and billing.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals and insurance representatives.
- Certification in Medical Coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, CCA) is preferred but not mandatory.
