Mechanical piping Project Engineer

Role Description The Mechanical Piping Project Engineer is a contract based, on-site role based in Goa, India. This role involves reviewing mechanical and piping layouts for chemical process plants, preparing and checking drawings and models and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations. The engineer will coordinate with project teams, vendors, and site operations to support installation, commissioning, and modification of piping systems and related mechanical equipment. Daily responsibilities include performing inspections, troubleshooting issues, and documenting project progress and technical reports. The role also requires supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant piping and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Strong Mechanical Engineering knowledge with experience in process plant or industrial project environments.
• Hands-on experience in Maintenance of piping systems, pumps, valves, and related mechanical equipment.
• Experience with Inspection, testing, and quality assurance of mechanical and piping installations.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI) and industrial safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and engineering drawings, and to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Good communication, planning, and problem-solving skills, with willingness to work in a chemical plant environment.
