Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated Marine Electrical Service Engineer with up to 4 years of experience to provide installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair support for marine electrical systems and equipment onboard vessels and at shipyards. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, a customer-focused approach, and be willing to travel extensively for service assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, commissioning, testing, and servicing of marine electrical systems onboard ships and offshore vessels.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform corrective maintenance on marine equipment.
- Attend vessel breakdowns and provide timely technical support at ports and shipyards.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and periodic inspections of electrical equipment.
- Diagnose issues using electrical drawings, manuals, and testing instruments.
- Prepare service reports, inspection reports, and technical documentation after each assignment.
- Ensure compliance with marine safety regulations and company quality standards.
- Support equipment upgrades, retrofits, and system modifications.
- Maintain inventory of service tools and spare parts during field assignments.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of marine electrical systems and shipboard power distribution.
- Knowledge of electrical motors, generators, switchboards, MCCs, transformers, and protection systems.
- Familiarity with PLC-based control systems, sensors, VFDs, and automation is an added advantage.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and clamp meters.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-handling abilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including overseas assignments and onboard vessels.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
