Job Description

The Role Responsibilities

Perform and deliver the activities under the Global Assurance Function for the region / countries assigned in GFS Global Assurance Unit
Key requirements of the role are as follows

  • Review and validate the quality of Balance Sheet substantiations and reconciliations performed by the account reconcilers/owners in line with the FCSR Policy and Standard

  • The individual will perform a deep dive analytic review of the accounts sampled through a risk-based approach to ensure existence of audit assertions

  • Carry out challenge sessions and drive agreement with account owners to comprehend the risk observations identified, closure and agree on risk mitigation

  • Test and sign off existence of control measures when the organization launches any refreshed/new controls or policies

  • Partner the Business and Support units on operational risk matters to ensure business growth is balanced with risk management and controls in place


  • Cross team collaboration and leadership experience skills - proactive engagement with relevant Departments and parties responsible for Finance Risk and Control, Operational Risk and Compliance

  • Demonstrates reasonable understanding of Financial Controls / Policy to be able to highlight issues involving Financial / Operational Risk

  • Ability to articulate risk commentaries and effective communication with senior stakeholders across multiple countries handled


  • Highlights probable process improvement areas and any activities which may have a scope for enhanced review procedures

  • Driving process efficiencies and automation Constantly review and challenge processes and brings in efficiencies through automation and simplification

  • Strong knowledge of accounting terminology and concepts and ability to apply the rules of accounting and double entry book-keeping in evaluating the Trial Balance

  • Demonstrates proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, Relates the tools with day-to-day task performed to recommend ways to minimize unwanted step and optimize business operations

  • Builds strong relationship with internal customers, understands the best practices across geographies

  • The candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills: networking, negotiation, influencing and written communication

  • Ability to handle disputes and ambiguities with tact while being solution oriented

Risk Management

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group&rsquos Values and Code of Conduct

  • Does not accept status quo and finds better ways of doing things within the framework principles and policy guidelines


  • Perform and deliver the activities under the Global Assurance Function for the region / countries assigned in GFS Global Assurance Unit

  • All the CFOs and in country finance teams

  • PSC for future migrations to GFS

  • Project teams & FMT working on global projects

  • Finance and all other business units

Other Responsibilities

  • As assigned by the unit head or line manager in line with any specific team objectives.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • B.Com, Post-Graduation in Accounting/Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent with > 8 years experience in internal audits or financial control / operational risk functions of FIs, internal audit of FIs or external audit from Big 4 firms
