Mainframe Developer

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Perform coding, debugging, and troubleshooting of mainframe programs
• Conduct unit testing, system testing, and integration testing to ensure quality delivery
• Optimize batch and online processing for performance and reliability
• Work with TSO/ISPF, MVS/zOS environments for application development and support
• Create and maintain JCL scripts for job scheduling and execution
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Business Analysts, Project Managers) to deliver solutions
• Provide production support, resolve abends, and ensure system stability
• Document technical processes, workflows, and maintain knowledge repositories
