Job Description

  • Design, develop and maintain complex software systems in Mainframe ensuring high quality and timely delivery
  • 4-10 years of experience in developing and supporting Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM
  • Collaborate with project managers, product owners and other stake holders to define, prioritize and plan projects
  • Debugging and bug fixing in existing code
  • Suggest system improvements
  • Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Lead a team of software developers and provide technical direction and guidance
  • Should have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Insurance domain is a plus
  • Assembler experience is a plus
  • SCLM and BMC Code Pipleline experience is a plus

Mainframe Skills - Advanced level experience with

  • COBOL, JCL in a z/OS environment, DB2 and SQL, CICS with BMS mapsets, Assembler a plus, z/OS Connect a plus
  • TSO ISPF functions and utilities, other programming support utilities such as File Manager, Fault Analyzer, IDCAMS, IEBGENER / ICEGENER, DFSORT, DSUTILITIES.
  • MVS, z/OS, JCL; debug tools e.g. Intertest, Xpediter, IBM Debugger
  • Reporting tools for quick adhoc reporting e.g. QMF, DYL 280, SPUFI, Access, SQL, etc.
  • Data storage file types: Sequential, VSAM, DB2, Tape, Disk, generational data sets (GDG), and temporary file handling
  • File Structures Sequential, VSAM, DB2, Tape, disk and generational data sets (GDG), temporary file handling
  • File Transmission using APIs, FTP, etc.
