About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Software Development Lead with strong expertise in Mainframe technologies and Java-based platforms. The ideal candidate will lead design and implementation for complex system enhancements and drive modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation decisions for complex system enhancements.
- Develop and maintain applications using Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2).
- Work on modernization projects using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, tech leads, and quality engineers.
- Ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
- Drive cloud adoption strategies and containerization using Kubernetes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across platforms.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software development.
- 6+ years of hands-on Mainframe development experience.
- 2-3+ years of experience with Java and related technologies.
- Expert-level knowledge in Mainframe technologies: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2.
- Knowledge of IMS / IDMS.
- Ability and passion to learn modern platforms such as EJB, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, Kubernetes.
- Experience with relational databases (DB2) and NoSQL (MongoDB or similar).
- Experience implementing Microservice Architecture patterns.
- Working knowledge of MuleSoft, Azure Cloud, and Kubernetes.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
Preferred Background
- Experience in Financial Services domain.
