Role Overview
Volody is looking for an experienced Legal Transformation Director to lead strategic legal transformation initiatives for enterprise clients across India and global markets.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience with a Big 4 consulting firm, leading management consulting organizations, or any large IT services company, where they have advised legal departments on legal operations transformation, digitization, operating model redesign, process optimization, and technology adoption.
This is a client-facing leadership role requiring a strong understanding of legal operations, enterprise transformation, legal technology, stakeholder management, sales and consulting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end legal transformation engagements for enterprise clients.
- Advise Boards, Audit Committee Chairman, CFOs, General Counsels, Heads of Legal, Legal Operations leaders, and executive stakeholders on transforming legal functions.
- Assess current legal operating models and design future-state operating frameworks.
- Identify opportunities for digitization, automation, AI adoption, and process optimization across legal departments.
- Develop legal transformation roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Lead legal process re-engineering initiatives covering contract management, compliance, governance, matter management, document management, and legal service delivery.
- Drive implementation and adoption of LegalTech platforms, including Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions and AI-powered legal technologies.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, implementation, and customer success teams to ensure successful solution deployment.
- Conduct legal maturity assessments, operating model reviews, and process diagnostics.
- Develop business cases, transformation strategies, governance models, and executive presentations.
- Facilitate workshops with client leadership teams to define transformation priorities.
- Manage multiple enterprise engagements while ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in Legal Operations, AI, automation, and enterprise legal technology.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline. MBA or equivalent consulting qualification is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of Leadership experience in Legal Operations Transformation, Consulting, or Enterprise Transformation.
- Experience working with any of Big 4, leading consulting firms, or large IT Services organizations.
- Proven experience advising large enterprise legal departments in India and global markets.
- Strong understanding of legal operations, legal service delivery models, and enterprise legal processes.
- Experience in digital transformation, automation, process improvement, and change management.
- Knowledge of Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), LegalTech platforms, AI solutions, workflow automation, and enterprise SaaS implementations.
- Strong consulting, sales, analytical, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and executive engagement abilities.
- Ability to work directly with Board Members, Audit Committee, C-level executives, General Counsels, and senior business leaders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Legal Operations consulting or legal transformation strategy.
- Exposure to AI-powered legal technologies and enterprise automation platforms.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking, or Business Process Re-engineering methodologies.
- Familiarity with legal spend management, contract lifecycle management, matter management, e-billing, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Experience leading cross-functional transformation programs.
- Global consulting or international client engagement experience is highly desirable.
