As a Lead Software Engineer - Vice President at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-native services that support Chase UK. You will utilize technologies such as Golang, AWS, Kubernetes, and Kafka to promote automation and enhance the developer experience. Collaborating with skilled colleagues, you will contribute to architectural decisions and foster a culture of technical excellence. Your efforts will have a direct impact on the reliability, scalability, and security of our digital banking platform.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, architect, and develop cloud-native services and automation solutions using Golang and AWS Cloud APIs.
  • Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle for platform engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver robust technical solutions.
  • Champion best practices in software engineering, including code quality, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Guide architectural discussions and drive consensus on design decisions for distributed systems.
  • Mentor and support other engineers, fostering innovation and continuous learning.
  • Drive automation initiatives to eliminate manual toil and enhance developer experience.
  • Evaluate new technologies and frameworks, conducting proof-of-concepts to inform platform direction.
  • Ensure platform solutions meet high standards for security, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with infrastructure and security teams to deliver secure and reliable platforms.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis to drive improvements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Proficiency in Golang programming language with production experience.
  • Experience developing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Awareness of patterns for building scalable, reliable, and observable large-scale systems.
  • Experience developing and maintaining applications in the public cloud (AWS).
  • Experience managing public cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code technologies (Terraform).
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes cluster operations (EKS).
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines across the full SDLC.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and SDLC best practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience managing public cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code technologies (Terraform).
  • Familiarity with distributed processing frameworks and related concepts.
  • Ability to work with multiple programming languages, including Golang and Python.
  • Willingness to learn and use various infrastructure automation tools.
  • Interest in picking up new technologies and frameworks as needed.
