Job Description

How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)

Test Architecture and Automation

Design and evolve scalable, maintainable mobile test automation frameworks
Define automation strategy across UI, API, and integration layers
Build robust test suites for functional, regression, performance, and reliability testing
Ensure high test coverage with optimized execution time

Technical Leadership

Lead and mentor QA/SDET engineers; enforce best practices and coding standards
Conduct code reviews for test automation and contribute to production code quality
Partner with engineering teams to improve testability, observability, and debugging
Drive adoption of shift-left testing and quality-first mindset

CI/CD and DevOps Integration

Architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated test execution gates
Integrate tests into pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
Optimize pipelines for speed, reliability, and scalability

Quality Strategy and Execution

Define test plans, strategies, and quality metrics (KPIs)
Lead risk assessment and ensure coverage for critical user journeys
Oversee cross-device, cross-platform testing (real devices, emulators, cloud farms)
Implement test data management and environment strategies

Cross-functional collaboration

Work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams
Influence design decisions to ensure high-quality, testable features
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

7+ years of experience in QA/SDET, with strong focus on mobile applications
Expert-level programming skills in Java, Kotlin, Swift, Python, or JavaScript
Deep experience with mobile automation tools:
Appium (cross-platform)
Espresso (Android)
XCUITest (iOS)
WebdriverIO
Strong experience in building custom automation frameworks from scratch
Solid understanding of API testing (REST/GraphQL) and tools like RestAssured/Postman
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Proficiency in Git and version control workflows
Strong knowledge of test design techniques, SDLC, and Agile methodologies

Serve as a trusted advisor and mentor for the team offering technical advice.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow)
Hands-on experience with cloud testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Firebase Test Lab)
Exposure to performance testing (JMeter, k6, Gatling)
Experience with contract testing and service virtualization
Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., ELK, Datadog)
Knowledge of security testing practices for mobile apps
