Role Summary:
Join our
Contract Order Management System (COMS) team as a
Lead QA Engineer, where you will play a critical role in ensuring quality across both legacy and modern platforms. We are looking for a seasoned professional with strong hands-on experience in Selenium or Playwright automation, complemented by solid functional QA skills. This position involves designing robust automation frameworks, validating complex workflows, and maintaining quality standards for legacy & web applications while introducing modern testing practices. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, can balance multiple priorities, and brings innovative solutions that improve reliability and accelerate delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Remain fully hands-on with automation scripting, framework development, and test execution.
Architect and maintain scalable, reusable Selenium or Playwright-based automation frameworks.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members across automation and manual testing.
Work on legacy OMS applications, including environments interfacing with IBM i (AS/400) systems, leveraging tools like TN5250J or similar terminal emulators.
Collaborate with onshore stakeholders to align testing strategies with business and technical objectives.
Drive innovation by introducing modern tools, frameworks, and process improvements.
Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of test plans, test cases, and execution reports.
Oversee functional test planning, execution, and defect lifecycle management.
Manage workload distribution, issue resolution, and maintain quality under tight deadlines.
Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and ensure continuous testing coverage.
Promote in-sprint automation and embed quality early through shift-left practices
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
6-10 years of experience in QA with strong expertise in Selenium / Playwright automation, as well as functional testing.
Proven experience leading offshore QA teams in a hands-on capacity.
Proficiency in Java, Javascript and Python for automation scripting (C# experience is a plus).
Proficiency with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, Insomnia).
Strong knowledge of test frameworks (e.g., TestNG, JUnit, PyTest).
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with SQL, Couchbase and NoSQL databases.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with BDD tools like Cucumber or SpecFlow.
Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
ISTQB or equivalent certification is a plus.
