Your Impact
As a Lead Consultant, you will help enterprise customers modernize and optimize their OpenText Documentum D2 applications by delivering scalable, secure, and user-focused solutions. You will lead the design, configuration, customization, and migration of Documentum D2 applications while enabling customers to transition from legacy platforms to D2 Smart View.
Working closely with customers and cross-functional teams, you will provide technical leadership throughout the application lifecycle—from solution design and implementation to modernization, integration, upgrades, and production support. Your expertise will help customers improve application performance, simplify operations, and maximize the value of their OpenText investments.
What The Role Offers
- Design and implement enterprise applications using OpenText Documentum D2 Classic and D2 Smart View.
- Configure D2 application capabilities, including workspaces, menus, actions, property pages, business rules, workflows, security, and user interfaces.
- Develop and maintain D2 customizations, plugins, extensions, and integrations using Java, REST APIs, and supported development frameworks.
- Assess existing D2 Classic implementations, perform feature mapping and gap analysis, and define migration strategies to D2 Smart View.
- Lead application modernization initiatives, including upgrades and migrations from D2 Classic, Webtop, and other legacy Documentum clients.
- Recommend standard D2 Smart View capabilities to simplify applications and reduce unnecessary customizations.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues related to configuration, customizations, integrations, authentication, deployment, and performance.
- Create application architecture documents, modernization roadmaps, implementation estimates, and technical documentation.
- Lead customer workshops, architecture discussions, and technical reviews while providing guidance to development, implementation, and support teams.
- Support the deployment and operation of D2 applications across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
What You Will Need To Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Bachelor's degree in Science with a Master's in Computer Applications.
- 8+ years of experience implementing, configuring, and supporting OpenText Documentum solutions with strong expertise in D2 applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with D2 Classic and D2 Smart View, including configuration, customization, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience leading D2 upgrades and migrations from D2 Classic, Webtop, or other legacy Documentum clients to Smart View.
- Ability to evaluate existing D2 applications, perform fit-gap analysis, and recommend practical modernization approaches.
- Hands-on experience with Java development, REST APIs, D2 plugins, workflows, and enterprise application integrations.
- Strong understanding of Documentum architecture, including repositories, object models, security, lifecycles, workflows, jobs, methods, and business rules.
- Working knowledge of application servers, databases, Single Sign-On (SSO), certificates, networking, and supporting application infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform and the ability to deploy and troubleshoot D2 applications in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, technical documentation, customer communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor project teams, and collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional stakeholders.
