The Lead Business Analyst – Business Innovation Strategy & Analytics is a high-impact, analytically rigorous role within Delta's Marketing & Product Business Innovation team. This role supports enterprise decision-making by providing financial models, market insight, and structured strategy tools that help leaders evaluate opportunities, prioritize investments, and understand tradeoffs across the end-to-end customer journey.

This position is part of a centralized shared decision layer, partnering with strategy leads and portfolio owners across the Marketing & Product organization, including Partnerships, Integrated Marketing Channels and Media, In-Flight Entertainment & Connectivity, Brand Experience, Service Design, International CX, and Customer Intelligence & Personalization.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical training, comfort operating in ambiguity, and the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, executive-ready insights. This role reports to the Program Manager – Business Innovation Strategy & Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models, market sizing analyses, and scenario frameworks to support strategy development and investment decisions across Marketing & Product portfolios.
  • Support the evaluation of new initiatives, partnerships, and innovation concepts by developing clear business cases and economic narratives.
  • Partner with portfolio leaders to apply standardized strategy tools—including ROI models, tradeoff frameworks, and prioritization templates—across diverse initiatives.
  • Conduct competitive, industry, and market analyses across customer experience, media networks, platform businesses, and adjacent industries.
  • Translate quantitative and qualitative insights into structured, executive-ready materials that inform leadership decisions.
  • Track performance against business cases and strategic objectives, surfacing insights, risks, and implications for future decisions.
  • Support ad hoc strategic analyses and leadership requests tied to enterprise priorities and time-bound initiatives.

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field from a leading institution.
  • 8-12 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or a similarly analytical role.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with experience building models from first principles.
  • Experience supporting or advising media networks, airlines, or experience-led consumer products.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex analysis into clear, well-structured presentations and written outputs.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and managing multiple parallel workstreams.

  • Exposure to customer experience, marketing, product, or digital platform strategy.
  • Familiarity with portfolio prioritization, capital allocation, or enterprise-level tradeoff analysis
  • Strong understanding of Commerce Media Networks.
  • Deep understanding of how data, technology, and customer engagement drive monetization strategies.
  • Ability to anticipate leadership needs and operate as a trusted thought partner.
  • Familiarity with airline, travel, or consumer experience‑driven industries.
