Job Description

Regenesis Materials is a sustainable materials innovation company redefining the future of polymers and circular manufacturing for the eyewear and fashion industries.

Using our proprietary ECOFUSION™ technology, we transform plastic waste collected from rivers and mangrove forests in Indonesia, combined with post-consumer plastics and captured CO₂ from discarded coconut shells, into advanced recycled nanocomposites. Our materials are engineered to match the mechanical performance of virgin materials while enabling brands to reduce their environmental impact and move toward a net-zero circular economy.

Launched at MIDO Milan in 2025, Regenesis quickly gained global industry recognition, securing more than 70 Letters of Intent from leading eyewear companies interested in adopting our materials.

Our mission is to accelerate the transition toward a regenerative circular economy by creating high-performance materials that clean the planet instead of polluting it — empowering brands to achieve true sustainability without greenwashing.

About the Role

We are looking for a Lab Project Manager to lead and coordinate materials development projects from concept and formulation through testing, validation, and scale-up.

This role will serve as the bridge between materials scientists, process engineers, QA teams, manufacturing partners, and external collaborators, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet technical, quality, safety, and commercialization requirements.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills with hands-on understanding of materials science, laboratory processes, and product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end materials R&D projects, including formulation, processing, testing, and validation.
  • Define project scope, milestones, timelines, and technical success criteria.
  • Coordinate laboratory activities across synthesis, compounding, processing, and characterization teams.
  • Support pilot-scale trials, scale-up experiments, and technology transfer to manufacturing.
  • Oversee materials testing and characterization plans, ensuring reliable and traceable data.
  • Coordinate internal and external testing laboratories.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, documentation standards, and quality systems.
  • Manage collaboration between R&D, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and commercial teams.
  • Support supplier, university, and research institute partnerships.
  • Maintain project documentation, technical reports, and materials development records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field.
  • Master's or PhD in Materials Science is a plus.
  • 4–8 years of experience in materials R&D, materials engineering, or technical project management.
  • Hands-on experience with materials processing and characterization.
  • Understanding of polymer development, testing methods, and scale-up processes.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, experimental, and innovation-driven environment.

Key Skills

  • Materials development lifecycle management.
  • Materials characterization techniques and testing standards (ASTM, ISO, IEC).
  • Pilot trials and manufacturing technology transfer.
  • Technical documentation and data management.
  • Project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet).
  • Data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, JMP).
