Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced
ITSupport Engineer to provide technical support for desktops, laptops, applications, and basic server operations. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on hardware experience, and basic knowledge of networking.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day desktop and laptop support to end users.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Operating Systems and standard applications.
- Perform basic server operations such as user management, shared folder access, and system monitoring.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Assist with application support, installation, updates, and basic debugging.
- Handle basic networking tasks including IP configuration, connectivity checks, LAN setup, and Wi-Fi issues.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with IT teams and vendors for escalations or hardware replacements.
- Maintain asset records, documentation of issues, and resolution steps.
- Ensure timely closure of tickets and deliver excellent customer support.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong experience in desktop and laptop troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of Windows OS (Windows 10/11) and basic server concepts.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, user creation, and permission management (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and replacement.
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN basics).
- Familiarity with antivirus, patching, and system monitoring tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and customer-handling skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science / IT / Electronics, or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications such as MCSA, A+, N+ will be an added advantage.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in IT support or desktop support role.
