Role Purpose

The Internal Security Engineer is responsible for evaluating, testing, and implementing security recommendations to strengthen the organisation's security posture. This role ensures that security updates, best practices, and threat mitigation strategies are effectively integrated into the IT environment, reducing risks and enhancing compliance with industry standards

By proactively addressing vulnerabilities and optimising security solutions, the role helps protect critical business assets, prevent cyber threats, and maintain operational resilience. This position also collaborates with internal teams to improve incident response, automate security processes, and ensure the seamless deployment of security controls across systems.

Our ideal candidates

Our ideal candidate is a highly skilled security engineer with expertise in Microsoft security solutions, including Defender, MS Sentinel, Entra ID, Intune (MDM), and Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM) solutions. They have a strong background in vulnerability management, security hardening, and compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST). Proficiency in PowerShell/Python for automation is essential. They are proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of evaluating, testing, and implementing Microsoft security recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance security posture. Microsoft security certifications (SC-200, AZ-500, etc.) are highly desirable. Excellent English, at least Cambridge C1 level, is a must.

Responsibility and Accountability :

  • Evaluate, test, and implement security recommendations and updates from Microsoft.Assess security advisories, vulnerabilities, and emerging threats, developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with IT and security teams to ensure seamless integration of Microsoft security

controls.

  • Conduct regular security assessments and hardening of Microsoft-based infrastructure.
  • Monitor, analyse, and respond to security alerts related to Microsoft products and services
  • Ensure compliance with security frameworks, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Automate security processes and develop scripts where necessary to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on Microsoft security tools, such as Defender, MS Sentinel, Entra ID, Intune (MDM), and Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM) solutions.
  • Manage and secure mobile devices via Mobile Device Management (MDM), and enforce least-privilege access through Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM) controls.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve incident response and threat intelligence capabilities.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of security implementations, risk assessments, and remediation activities.

Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in security engineering with a focus on Microsoft technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft security solutions (Defender, MS Sentinel, Entra ID, Intune/MDM, etc.), including Endpoint Privilege Management
  • (EPM).Experience administering Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM) platforms, ideally Microsoft Intune, including device enrolment, compliance policies, and least-privilege enforcement
  • Experience with security hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python) for automation and security tasks.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS benchmarks
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent English level (at least C1 Cambridge) is a hard requirement.
