Purpose of the Role
As part of the finance team at Planify Capital, the intern will support financial planning & analysis (FP&A), investment monitoring, reporting, and strategic decision-making. Given the requirement of CFA Level III clearance, we expect a high calibre candidate who can contribute meaningfully from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of monthly & quarterly financial reports, dashboards and presentations for senior management.
- Build, update and maintain financial models (e.g., forecasting, budgeting, valuations) to support business units and investment decisions.
- Analyse business performance: variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast), identify drivers, prepare commentary and actionable insights.
- Support investment/portfolio monitoring: evaluate key metrics, track performance, prepare investment memos/scorecards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, sales, risk, HR) to gather inputs and align on financial planning.
- Help with implementation and enhancement of reporting tools and processesprocess improvements, automation in Excel / BI tools.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial and market research (industry trends, competitor benchmarking, regulatory changes) and present findings.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, documentation of assumptions and model logic, support audit/tracking activities.
- Assist with employer-branding and internal communications by preparing finance-related content for stakeholder updates.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Cleared CFA Level III (or equivalent qualification) mandatory.
- Master's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics or equivalent; MBA/PG Diploma in Finance is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, modelling) and ideally PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of financial modelling, valuations, budgeting & forecasting.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, make actionable recommendations.
- Good written & verbal communication skills. Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior internship or project experience in finance, FP&A, investments or related domain is an advantage.
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI/Tableau) or SQL is a plus, though not mandatory.
