Role Overview -
We are looking for an experienced and creative Deputy General Manager Interior Design to lead our design strategy and execution across existing and upcoming properties. This role demands a strong sense of aesthetics, attention to detail, and proven project management capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creative design thinking and operational practicality aligned with the goSTOPS brand ethos. The role includes extensive travel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead end-to-end interior design for all goSTOPS hostels including new projects, renovations, and brand upgrades.
- Develop and maintain design guidelines, ensuring consistency in look and feel across all properties while adapting to local character and constraints.
- Oversee space planning, layout finalization, color schemes, lighting, and furniture selection in line with brand identity. Manage design consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
- Collaborate closely with Project, Procurement, Branding, and Operations teams for seamless coordination.
- Conduct site visits to monitor work progress and ensure design adherence. Create mood boards, presentations, 2D layouts, and supervise 3D visualization development.
- Approve material samples, mock-ups, and prototypes to ensure desired quality.
- Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards for all design projects.
- Lead innovation in upcycling and sustainable design practices aligned with ESG goals.
Qualification -
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from a reputed institute.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and other design tools.
Experience / Skills -
- 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in hospitality or co-living space design.
- Strong portfolio of commercial interior projects; hostel/hotel/resort design experience preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple projects across geographies with strong team leadership.
- Excellent understanding of materials, sourcing, and cost optimization.
- Strong project management, budgeting, and vendor management skills.
- Creative flair with attention to detail and a practical approach to execution.
