Job Description

Position Summary

As WebPT's Integration Developer, you will participate and guide as a subject matter expert with integration technical design, development, deployment, and implementation of Mirth Connect interface integration. You will participate in the development of technical implementations of WebPT integration using Mirth Connect and supporting integration with WebPT applications, customers, and affiliated partner systems.

The Integration Developer works collaboratively with architecture team and Interoperability team to propose solutions, design, and develop the Interop related Mirth Connect channel and when necessary, JavaScript function code templates to support the solution integration development.

Translate Business Requirements and/or Functional Specifications into technical solutions.

Participate in integration code reviews (Peer Reviews).

Collaborate with clients, partners, and stakeholdersboth internal and externalto understand requirements and deliver new integration capabilities.

Act as a technical advisor and product integration advocate for custom integration software solutions for internal and external customers.


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to discuss, assist in designing, developing and documenting integration solutions for the WebPT internal and external customers and partners.
  • Perform analysis on message transactions to determine data gaps, and data transformations.
  • Work closely with client stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential issues and concerns.
  • Participate in client integration projects and customer escalated support issues.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage interfaces to meet client's needs.
  • Document meeting minutes for implementation calls, specification changes, and project status reports.
  • Reliable and punctual in reporting for work and taking designated breaks.

Technical Skills

  • Mandatory knowledge and expertise with at least three to five years working knowledge of Health Level Seven (HL7) standards.
  • Preferably experience and proficiency in programming Java, JavaScript, and/or other programming languages.
  • Preferably knowledgeable of HL7 FHIR resource standards.
  • Mandatory knowledge of Mirth Connect Integration engine and development for a minimum of three years.
  • Working knowledge of SQL

Soft Skills

  • A critical thinker, analytical with an entrepreneur spirit and mindset, to work independently by taking initiative but also to work cohesively and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to communicate customer requirements to WebPT's product management team and Integration Engineers for projects.
  • Juggle many complex projects, all with a sense of urgency, simultaneously.
  • Possess excellent communication skills verbally and written.
  • Strong, positive team player.

Education And Experience


  • Three to five years of related integration analysis and implementation experience.
  • Three to five years minimum of experience with creating, deploying, and maintaining HL7 interfaces.
  • Three to five years of programming and SQL experience.
  • Three to five years with Mirth Connect and development of JavaScript code.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in web service concepts and scripting

Attendance and Punctuality

Being punctual, reliable, and consistent is key to WebPT's success. To function at a high level, you are expected to be reliable and punctual for work and take designated breaks as set by your leader.


Candidates must be available to work during 3:30am-12:30pm CDT (2-11pm IST). Candidates must be available and be willing to service the On-Call Rotation Schedule, which requires the engineer to be available to work and support off-hour incidents and should be reachable and accessible through mobile phone and/or online communication services platform (i.e., WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.) especially during off-hours support as needed to support WebPT's success.

Working Conditions

Work Environment

Remote positions require a HIPAA compliant environment. Your work environment must be accessible to a consistent and adequate internet connection per WebPT guidelines. A controlled and dedicated workspace will be necessary to be successful.
