ROLE SUMMARY
The Head – SAP Delivery will lead the end-to-end Design, implementation, and continuous evolution of the company's SAP landscape. This is a high-visibility, hands-on leadership role responsible for aligning enterprise technology with Company's business strategy across Manufacuring, merchandising, supply chain, Distribution, Retail, and finance. The incumbent will be the single-threaded owner of the SAP Eco system and programs, interfacing with business leaders, implementation partners, and the IT organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Leadership & Strategy
- Own and drive the full lifecycle of SAP ERP implementation – from blueprint through hyper care and BAU stabilization.
- Define the SAP technology roadmap aligned with the company's 3-year Technology plan, including phased rollouts for new verticals and geographies.
- Evaluate Build-vs-buy decisions and manage vendor / SI partner relationships, SLAs, and commercial negotiations.
- Establish governance frameworks including steering committee cadences, change control boards, and program risk registers.
Functional Scope – Modules & Processes
- Lead functional design and deployment across core modules relevant to fashion retail:
- SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) – GL, AP, AR, asset accounting, cost center & profit center accounting.
- SAP MM / WM / EWM – procurement, inventory management, warehouse operations.
- SAP SD / Retail & Fashion Management – order management, pricing, season/collection management.
- SAP PP/QM – production planning for owned manufacturing units.
- SAP HCM – HR integration with external HRMS systems.
- SAP BTP, Analytics Cloud (SAC) & BW/4HANA – reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
- Oversee integrations with third-party platforms: Unicommerce (OMS), Shopify (D2C), Legacy data migration, GST/TDS compliance add-ons.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing internal SAP team of 15–20 functional and technical consultants.
- Serve as the primary interface between business stakeholders (Cxo's, Functional Heads) and the technology team.
- Drive business change management, training programs, and user adoption across 1,500+ end-users.
- Present program status, risk, and spends to the CITO regularly.
Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure 99.5%+ system availability and SLA adherence post go-live through AMS (Application Management Services) governance.
- Drive process standardization, automation (RPA / BTP integrations), and elimination of shadow IT across departments.
- Lead the SAP upgrades and enhancement lifecycle including patch management, S/4 annual releases, and migration readiness.
- Champion data governance and master data management (MDM) practices and comply with audit requirements, always.
- Device, improve and sustain IT support and service related OKR's, consistently.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems; MBA or equivalent PG preferred.
- 15–20 years of total IT experience with a minimum of 10 years in SAP implementations across multiple modules.
- Mandatory: At least 2 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA / Fashion - greenfield or brownfield implementations as Program Manager or Project Manager.
- Proven experience in the Fashion, Apparel, Retail, or FMCG sector – understanding of season-based planning, multi-channel retail, and supply chain nuances is critical.
- Strong command over SAP Hana / Fashion and Vertical Business Solutions (Apparel or Retail Industry Solution).
- Demonstrable track record of managing 5 Cr+ SAP implementation budgets and cross-functional teams of 20+ members.
Preferred / Advantageous
- SAP Certified Application Associate or Professional in S/4HANA (Finance, Logistics, Fashion).
- Experience with SAP Rise (RISE with SAP) or BTP-led transformations in mid-market environments.
- Exposure to Indian regulatory requirements: GST, TDS, e-invoicing, GSTR reconciliation within SAP.
- Knowledge of omnichannel retail technology ecosystems (POS integration, loyalty platforms, marketplaces).
- Prior experience at or with top-tier SI partners (Accenture, Wipro, TCS, HCL, IBM, KPMG, PWC, Deloitte) in a client-side leadership capacity.
