Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized DT Lab Assistant to support the smooth operation of our Design and Technology Laboratory. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lab Operations and Maintenance
- Prepare tools, equipment, and materials for lessons and projects.
- Maintain, repair, and ensure the safety of lab equipment and tools.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and manage stock levels of materials.
- Safety and Compliance
- Enforce health and safety standards in the lab.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and guidelines.
- Provide safety demonstrations to students and staff as required.
- Support for Teaching and Learning
- Assist teachers during practical lessons and student projects.
- Guide students in using tools and materials effectively and safely.
- Help with the setup and dismantling of displays or exhibitions related to the DT curriculum.
- Administrative Duties
- Record lab usage and maintain logs for tools and equipment.
- Order supplies and liaise with vendors as needed.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to lab scheduling and planning.
