General Manager Machine Shop

Role Description The General Manager Machine Shop role is a full-time, on-site position based at CHW Forge's facility in Greater Noida. The individual in this role will oversee daily machine shop operations, including planning, organizing, and controlling production activities to meet delivery schedules and quality standards. Responsibilities include supervising machining processes, managing teams of operators and technicians, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. The General Manager will coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to resolve operational issues, improve workflow, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves monitoring performance metrics, implementing cost-effective methods, mentoring team members, and contributing to strategic decisions that enhance machine shop productivity and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong production planning and production management skills, with experience in scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow optimization in a machine shop or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on expertise in forging machining operations, tooling, and CNC/ conventional machines, with the ability to troubleshoot process issues and improve machining efficiency.
• Solid background in quality management and inspection, including knowledge of quality standards, dimensional inspection techniques, and root cause analysis for nonconformities.
• Proficiency in team leadership, people management, and cross-functional coordination, with the ability to guide, motivate, and develop shop-floor personnel.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies, and familiarity with ERP or production management systems.
• Relevant technical qualification, such as a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering, and significant experience in a machine shop at a supervisory or managerial level.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with clear communication abilities and a focus on safety, quality, and delivery performance.
