General Manager – International Petrochemical Trading (Greenfield Opportunity)

Location: Singapore /Indonesia

Employment Type: Permanent | Full-time

Our client, a leading international industrial group, is seeking a General Manager – International Petrochemical Trading to establish and lead its global trading business. This is a unique opportunity to shape commercial strategy, develop international markets, and build a high-performing trading organization within a growing global business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the global petrochemical trading strategy.
  • Build and expand international customer and supplier networks.
  • Drive business development across Asia Pacific, China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, contract management, and transaction execution.
  • Monitor global market trends and identify new business opportunities.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with producers, distributors, trading houses, and industrial end-users.
  • Build, mentor, and lead an international trading team.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Logistics, and Legal to ensure seamless commercial execution.

Products

Experience in one or more of the following products will be highly advantageous:

  • Polyethylene (PE)
  • Polypropylene (PP)
  • Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
  • Propylene Oxide (PO)
  • Alcohol Chemicals
  • Naphtha
  • Marine Fuel
  • Petrochemicals and related chemical products

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Chemical Engineering, International Trade, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

Minimum 10 years experience in international petrochemical or chemical trading.

Proven track record in developing international markets and building strategic customer relationships.

Experience in business development, commercial leadership, and international trading.

Strong commercial negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.

Experience building new business platforms or greenfield commercial operations will be highly regarded.

Able to communicate with China's supply and Customer independently
