GENERAL ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary

Company is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to manage the company's day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in trading and distribution businesses, with hands-on knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Import & Export Documentation, Bank Reconciliation, and Financial Reporting. The candidate should also be proficient in accounting software and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely posting of transactions.

• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and follow up on customer collections.

• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and ensure timely supplier payments.

• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.

• Maintain General Ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Assist in budgeting and financial planning activities.

• Support external and internal audits.

Import & Export Documentation

• Handle import and export documentation processes.

• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and logistics providers.

• Verify shipping documents, invoices, packing lists, and customs-related paperwork.

• Monitor landed cost calculations and inventory-related accounting entries.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and filing requirements.

• Maintain proper documentation and accounting records in line with company policies.

• Assist management with financial analysis and reporting requirements.

Software & Systems

• Use accounting software/ERP systems efficiently for daily accounting activities.

• Generate reports and maintain data accuracy within the system.

• Support process improvements and automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 2–5 years of accounting experience in Trading, Distribution, or FMCG companies.

• Strong knowledge of: 

o Accounts Receivable (AR)

o Accounts Payable (AP)

o General Accounting

o Bank Reconciliation

o Import & Export Documentation

o UAE VAT

• Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems (Tally, Zoho, SAP Business One, Odoo, Oracle, or similar).

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in UAE trading companies.

• Knowledge of inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.

• Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
