We are seeking an experienced Ship Hull Fitter to join our team in Poland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipbuilding and be skilled in fitting and assembling hull structures. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings related to ship hulls.
- Perform layout work, cutting, shaping, and welding of steel and metal components.
- Assemble and fit ship hull structures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed hull fittings to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion and address any fitting issues that arise.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3-7 years of experience in ship hull fitting or a related field.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong welding skills, particularly in MIG and TIG welding processes.
- Knowledge of shipbuilding materials, particularly steel and aluminum.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in a shipyard environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other tradespeople.
Job Overview
We are hiring experienced Ship Hull Fitters for leading shipyards and heavy fabrication projects in Poland. The role involves assembly and fitting of steel structures, especially ship hull components, based on technical drawings and European quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and fit ship hull structures and steel components as per drawings
- Perform manual oxygen cutting (straight cutting and beveling)
- Carry out tack welding using:
- 111 (Arc welding)
- 135 (MIG/MAG)
- 136 (Flux-cored)
- Read and interpret:
- Technical drawings
- Hull structure drawings
- Symbols and markings
- Identify:
- Correct part location in drawings
- Dimensions and alignment requirements
- Use tools and equipment such as:
- Pneumatic tools
- Hydraulic tools
- Magnetic tools
- Measuring instruments
- Assist in lifting and positioning using cranes (as hookman/operator if certified)
Qualification Requirements
- ITI / Diploma in:
- Fitter
- Fabrication
- Structural / Mechanical trade
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in:
- Shipyard / offshore / heavy fabrication
Mandatory Certifications
Candidates must have:
- Oxy-fuel (gas cutting) certificate
- Certification or experience in:
- Tack welding (111 / 135 / 136 processes)
- Crane / Hookman certificate (preferred or mandatory depending on project)
Skills Required

- Tack welding in multiple positions
