Function/Department Finance (Capex & MIS)
Job Location: Azamabad (Near RTC Cross Roads), Hyderabad
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented finance professional to join our team. The candidate will play a critical role in Capital Expenditure (Capex) management and Management Information Systems (MIS), while supporting other finance functions on an ad-hoc basis.
This role will involve evaluation of investment proposals, end-to-end tracking of capital projects, process improvements through SAP (Project Systems module), and providing insightful dashboards and reports to senior management, including CFO and MD.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, sound knowledge of financial modelling, and a keen understanding of manufacturing operations in the vaccines and specialty pharma industry.
Key Responsibilities
A. Capex Management
- Evaluation & Approval Process
- Assess Capex proposals and investment business cases using IRR, NPV, payback period, and strategic alignment criteria.
- Review Purchase Proposal Forms (PPFs) for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies.
- Prepare financial notes and recommendations for Investment Committee (IC) and senior management.
- Project Tracking & Control
- Monitor Capex budget vs. actuals at project and organizational levels.
- Maintain a centralized Capex database with real-time updates on project status, cost, and timelines.
- Identify variances and highlight delays, cost overruns, or risks with corrective action plans.
- SAP Project Systems (PS) Management
- Act as the key finance point of contact for the SAP PS module.
- Collaborate with IT and project teams to ensure correct project structure, cost capture, and reporting.
- Drive automation and standardization of Capex workflows within SAP.
- Reporting & Dashboards
- Develop and publish periodic Capex dashboards for CFO, MD, and senior stakeholders.
- Provide analysis on asset capitalization, depreciation impact, and post-implementation reviews of major projects.
B. MIS Support
- Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS reports for management review.
- Provide analytical insights into sales, expenses, margins, and other KPIs.
- MIS Automation
- Support MIS lead in automation initiatives, including integration of data from SAP and other systems.
- Drive process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and timeliness.
- Business Partnering
- Work closely with finance, operations, and commercial teams to ensure accurate reporting and analysis.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis for decision-making as requested by CFO/MD.
C. Cross-functional Support
- Support other finance areas such as budgeting, forecasting, insurance, and special projects on an ad-hoc basis.
- Actively contribute to finance transformation initiatives and policy improvements.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of Capex evaluation, project finance, and financial modelling.
- Hands-on experience with SAP (PS & FI modules).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI or similar analytics tools.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for senior leadership reporting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant (CMA), or MBA (Finance).
- Experience:
- 48 years of experience in finance roles, preferably in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or vaccine industry.
- Prior exposure to Capex evaluation, SAP PS module, and MIS reporting is highly desirable.

- Timely and accurate review of Capex proposals and PPFs.
- Accuracy of Capex budget vs. actual tracking and reporting.
- Successful implementation of automation initiatives in SAP.
- Quality and timeliness of MIS reports and dashboards.
- Positive feedback from CFO, MD, and cross-functional teams.
Reporting Structure
- Reports to: Deputy General Manager Finance
- Works closely with: CFO, Project teams, MIS lead, IT, Operations, Commercial, and Corporate Strategy.
