Job Description:

The Fabrication Parts Database Manager is responsible for the creation, organization, maintenance, and optimization of the company's Autodesk Fabrication Parts database. This role ensures that accurate, standardized, and fabrication-ready parts and services are available for use within Revit, Fabrication CADmep, ESTmep, CAMduct, and related platforms. The manager will act as the primary steward of digital fabrication content, enabling seamless workflows from design through prefabrication and installation

Key Responsibilities

1)Database Management

Develop, configure, and maintain the Autodesk Fabrication Database (ITM

parts, services, connectors, and specifications).

Ensure consistency and compliance with company standards, project

requirements, and industry best practices.

Manage version control and coordinate database updates across all project

teams.

2)Integration & Standards

Implement and maintain Fabrication Parts within Revit templates and

families. Standardize services, materials, and part libraries to ensure interoperability

between design and fabrication platforms. Work with BIM managers to align fabrication database content with company

BIM standards.

3)Support & Training

Provide technical support to project teams using Fabrication Parts in Revit

and Fabrication software. Train users on database use, workflows, and best practices. Develop and

maintain documentation, guidelines, and reference materials for database use

4)Quality Control

Audit and validate fabrication content for accuracy (sizes, materials,

connectors, and manufacturer data). Ensure compatibility with downstream uses such as spooling, estimating, CAM outputs, and field prefabrication

5)Collaboration

Work closely with engineering, detailing, estimating, and fabrication teams to

meet project and operational needs. Liaise with software vendors and consultants for database optimization and troubleshooting. Provide feedback to leadership on database performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement opportunities

6)Quality Control

Audit and validate fabrication content for accuracy (sizes, materials,

connectors, and manufacturer data). Ensure compatibility with downstream uses such as spooling, estimating, CAM outputs, and field prefabrication. Collaborate with QA/QC teams to verify fabrication deliverables.

7)Collaboration

Work closely with engineering, detailing, estimating, and fabrication teams to

meet project and operational needs. Liaise with software vendors and consultants for database optimization and troubleshooting. Provide feedback to leadership on database performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement opportunities. Familiarity with database version control, ITM file management, and service configurations. Strong troubleshooting skills for interoperability between platforms (Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC).

Education & Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering,

Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5–7 years of experience with Autodesk Fabrication software (CADmep or

ESTmep) and Revit MEP. Hands-on experience managing or customizing Fabrication Parts databases (ITM content).Knowledge of construction workflows, MEP systems, and prefabrication

practices.
