About the Role:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented F&B Category Manager to join our team in shaping the success of our coffee retail chain. The ideal candidate will take charge of sales planning, supplier management, and menu development while ensuring alignment with the company's goals and operational excellence. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, market research, and culinary creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Planning & Performance Analysis
Monitor and analyze sales performance against budgeted targets and forecasts.
Develop sales plans and strategies to boost category growth and revenue.
Prepare detailed sales reports, identifying actionable insights and improvement areas.
Promotion & Campaign Management
Conduct market research to develop promotional strategies that resonate with customer preferences.
Create data-driven promotions (awareness campaigns, habit-building offers, clearance initiatives) to optimize stock and reduce waste.
Calculate margins, breakeven quantities, and promotion performance metrics to ensure profitability.
Collaborate with the marketing and retail teams for smooth implementation of campaigns.
Supplier Management & Sourcing
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers that align with Maru Coffee's quality and operational standards.
Negotiate trading terms, pricing, and margins to achieve cost efficiency.
Build strong supplier relationships to ensure timely order fulfillment and quality consistency.
Address issues like late deliveries or order discrepancies promptly.
Menu Development & Culinary Innovation
Research market trends and customer preferences to develop innovative menu offerings.
Organize and lead product taste tests, ensuring products meet quality and flavor standards.
Partner with suppliers to understand preparation and storage procedures.
Train the operations team to implement new menu items effectively.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Use tools like Tableau or other BI software to analyze performance metrics and identify trends.
Create reports and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint for stakeholders and leadership.
Operational Alignment & Documentation
Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including Halal certifications for ingredients and suppliers.
Document preparation, storage, and operational procedures to maintain consistency.
Stay updated on manufacturing and F&B operations practices to optimize workflows.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Food Science, or related field.
Experience: Proven experience in category management or similar roles within the F&B or retail industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Tableau or other BI software, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge: Understanding of market trends, customer preferences, and food safety (Halal) standards.
Personal Traits: Creative thinker with excellent taste buds and the ability to critique and innovate.
