The Opportunity:
We are looking for an Event Manager to join our Corporate Engagement team. The person will be responsible for end-to-end delivery and client success of the various sports events that we are commissioned for by our corporate clients. Responsibilities:
- Event Pre-Sales: Engage with potential leads to better understand their requirements and scope out an initial proposal based on their needs and budgets.
- Event Planning: Creating a detailed event delivery schedule based on client's requirement in conjunction with the sales team, including identifying and securing appropriate event venues with help from the internal team.
- Vendor Management: Onboarding, coordination and negotiating costs with multiple vendors as per the event schedule. Manage and coordinate event staffing including contractors, vendors, and volunteers.
- Event Logistics: Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including transportation, printing collaterals, gifts/swags and catering via vendors and ensuring relevant onsite branding for Playo at the events.
- Client Success: Liaison between the client and vendors to ensure that the event progresses seamlessly as per the delivery schedule and within the costs budgeted.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in a B2B event management role or related professional area. Experience in hospitality events and/or sports events would be an added advantage.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Proficient in basic computer skills including internet, email, Google Drive, Microsoft Word/Excel.
- Ability to lead and manage complex events with confidence.
- Strong negotiating skills coupled with a positive customer service attitude.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a penchant for attention to detailing
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environments.
- Positive team player and able to work independently.
- Willingness to travel as required and the flexibility to work outside of regular business hours.
