Roles & Responsibilities:
- Developing policies and procedures related to health, safety, and environmental issues in the workplace.
- Training staff on new safety procedures and best practices.
- Working with other departments to ensure that all company guidelines are being followed.
- Conducting risk assessments of work sites to identify potential hazards and formulate plans to mitigate them.
- Providing oversight of environmental health and safety compliance in the workplace, including fire safety and OSHA regulations.
- Consulting with architects and engineers to ensure that building designs are safe and compliant with current regulations.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating safety programs and policies to reduce the risk of injury or illness in the workplace.
- Organize various Safety Promotional events such as Behavior Based Safety.
- EHS culture building and Solution Provider, Cost Reduction, Budgeting, Project Management
- Passionate to develop green zone, expertise in critical project EHS management in green and brown field
- To do hazard identification & risk assessment of all activities
- Develop Safe operation procedures, plans & implementation of same to eliminate / reduce risk
- Identification and report of unsafe act / condition to concern area's to put controls to prevent injury.
- To impart Safety trainings to on different Safety elements down the line to create awareness
- To comply with all applicable Health & Safety Legislations
- To maintain system for recording, reporting and investigation of injuries, accidents and dangerous occurrences
- To conduct mock drill rehearsals and maintain records
- To formulate and keep updated On Site Emergency plan as per identified possible emergencies
- Arrange and organize periodic medical examination of all employees
- To conduct Safety inspections, Internal Safety Audits & organize Safety Committee meetings
- To ensure checking, working & upkeep of Fire Fighting System including Fire alarm system, smoke detector system etc
- To make monthly Safety MIS report and share with concerned departments
- To organize and conduct third party fire Safety, OH&S audits under statutory & OEM requirement & comply with the requirements
- To look after healthy operation of OHC, procurement of Medicines, infrastructure, disposal of Bio Medical waste to authorized agencies
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or related field
- Site experience is mandatory.
- 15+ years experience in environmental, health, and safety management
- Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) will be an added advantage.
- Experience leading a team of safety professionals.
- Thorough understanding of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and project management skills
