About the Role

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one or more engineering squads responsible for building, scaling, and operating our core healthcare platforms. This role blends people leadership, hands-on technical ownership, and execution excellence in a regulated, high-trust environment. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and Compliance to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable systems.

What You'll Do

Own delivery & execution

• Own end-to-end delivery for your assigned product or platform areas.
• Translate product requirements into clear technical designs and execution plans.
• Balance speed, quality, reliability, and compliance in day-to-day decisions.

Lead teams effectively

• Manage and mentor a team of 6–10 engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, or platform roles.
• Drive sprint planning, estimation, execution, and delivery predictability.
• Provide regular feedback, performance coaching, and career development support.

Stay technically strong

• Review system designs, APIs, and architecture decisions.
• Uphold high standards for code quality, testing, and observability.
• Act as an escalation point for technical blockers and production issues.

Build secure & compliant systems

• Ensure adherence to secure SDLC practices and data privacy requirements.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Security teams on HIPAA, ISO 27001, UAE PDPL, and KSA PDPL standards.
• Maintain audit readiness and proper documentation for owned systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of core healthcare product features and services.
• Manage sprint execution, backlog prioritisation, and technical debt.
• Partner with Product Managers to define technical solutions and delivery timelines.
• Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortems.
• Work with DevOps/SRE teams to ensure uptime, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Hire, onboard, and grow engineering talent aligned with business needs.
• Foster a strong engineering culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.

What We're Looking For

Experience

• 6–10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2–4+ years as an Engineering Manager or Senior Tech Lead.
• Track record managing teams of 5–10 engineers in fast-paced environments.
• Exposure to healthcare, fintech, or other regulated domains is a plus.

Technical skills

• Strong background in backend systems, APIs, and distributed architectures, ideally with Java (Spring Boot or similar).
• Experience with microservices, cloud-native systems, and event-driven design.
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools.
• Solid understanding of data security, encryption, and handling of PII/PHI.

• Strong people-management and stakeholder-communication skills.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity while maintaining delivery discipline.
• High ownership, bias for action, and a customer-first mindset.
