Role: Engineering Manager - Salesforce

Position Summary:

Marriott International is seeking a Engineering Manager Salesforce – Empower CEC to lead the engineering teams responsible for delivering and supporting the Salesforce Empower platform for Customer Engagement Centers (CEC). The candidate requires a strong technical foundation in Salesforce (including Apex, LWC, and integrations), leadership experience in Agile environments, and a passion for building high-performing teams. The engineering manager will oversee multiple Salesforce engineers and work cross-functionally with product, architecture, QA, and business teams to translate vision into reality, ensuring the platform meets strategic business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop Salesforce engineering teams responsible for Empower CEC applications, Salesforce integrations, and supporting platform services.
• Drive and own technical strategy, roadmap alignment across the Empower ecosystem for Salesforce platform.
• Guide the development of custom components, APIs, and third-party integrations using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce APIs.
• Drive engineering excellence through best practices in code quality, DevOps, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Stakeholders to prioritize work and deliver high-quality features on time.
• Ensure consistent Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor team performance and ensure delivery against SLAs, KPIs, and compliance standards.
• Stay up to date with Salesforce product releases and leverage platform innovations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Deep technical knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Apex, LWC, Visualforce, SOQL (Salesforce Object Query Language), andcustom metadata/configuration.
• Proven track record of leading successful enterprise-scale Salesforce implementations and integrations.
• Strong Agile/Scrum experience with toolslike Jira, Confluence, and Git.
• Salesforce Platform Developer I and II certifications (or equivalent experience).

Nice to Have:

• Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect.
• Experience with DevOps tools like Copado, Gearset, Jenkins, or Salesforce DX.
• Prior experience managing distributed or offshore teams.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce security models, governor limits, and performance optimization.

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering
