About The Role

We are looking for a dynamic, results‑driven professional who is passionate about product feature testing in R&D product development environment. In this role, you will contribute to the verification and validation of electricity metering product's which includes advanced communication protocols.

As a key representative of Integration / Verification / Validation, you will:

  • Define or contribute to test specification/ test plans and test strategies (unit / integration, system and Regression Test) .
  • Analyse test results with scrum teams and provide inputs for development team.
  • Contribute to identifying and resolving firmware-related issues, ensuring the smooth operation of our products throughout their lifecycle.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the firmware development team to define comprehensive test strategies that cover functional, performance, and reliability aspects of the firmware.
  • Define, develop and execute test cases across various stages of the product development life cycle which includes functional testing, integration , system and regression testing for Metering Product.
  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts to optimize testing efficiency and enhance test coverage, with a focus on automated system firmware testing.
  • Perform thorough regression testing to ensure new Firmware changes do not introduce defects into existing functionalities.
  • Implement robust verification frameworks to identify and analyse defects while meeting functional, security, and real-time performance requirements
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to optimize testing processes, focusing on seamless hardware-software integration and adherence to industry standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on product quality and field issues.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and resolve roadblocks.
  • Design, implement, and test new products, as well as improve existing products.
  • Analyse test results, identify defects, and work with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Identify, investigate, and report firmware defects using issue tracking systems, such as JIRA, and proficiently manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle.
  • Continuously research and explore emerging testing methodologies, tools, and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of firmware verification and validation processes,
  • Oversee communication protocol testing (Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet, BLE, Wi‑Fi, Zigbee).

Requirements

  • Proven Experience in firmware verification and validation in embedded system - Metering Product's .
  • Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle, V‑model, and Agile practices.
  • Exposure to test automation tools and scripting (LabVIEW, Python , Robot framework )
  • Knowledge on Metrology Standard and Compliance .
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps , JAMA , JIRA).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands on experience in operation of 3 Ph Source like MTE , Fluke , Omicron independently.
  • Basic Knowledge in Cyber Security

Qualifications - External

  • Bachelor/master's degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering . Power System.
  • 4-7 years of working experience in embedded system – Firmware testing , metering domain / electrical related product verification.
