Role Summary:
We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with mandatory experience in electrical
estimation. The role involves system design, drawings, and accurate project costing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare electrical schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, layouts for control / distribution / automation panels using CAD / EDA tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, etc.).
- Select appropriate electrical components (relays, contactors, MCCBs, VFDs, PLC modules, busbars, enclosures, etc.) based on load, safety norms, functioning, and client requirements.
- Design cable routing, wire sizing, terminal planning, grounding / earthing scheme.
- Interface with PLC/SCADA design engineers for I/O mapping, logic, instrumentation integration.
- Ensure designs comply with electrical safety, industrial standards, local codes, and internal quality guidelines.
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials), component lists with make, model, ratings, and quantities.
- Conduct design reviews and validation with senior engineers / QA to ensure reliability and manufacturability.
Requirement
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design and switch gear/ estimation (must have).
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN, MS Office.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and LT panels.
Requisite Skills:
- Electrical Schematic Drawing (Control circuits, power wiring, interlocking, etc.)
- AutoCAD Electrical (or similar CAD software like EPLAN for control panel design)
- Single-Line Diagram (SLD) Creation and wiring diagrams
- Panel Layout Design component placement, wire routing, cable entry, heat dissipation
- Selection of Switchgear Components (MCCBs, MCBs, contactors, relays, timers, etc.)
- Control Logic Understanding (relay-based or PLC-based)
- Must have Experience with any Cost Estimation software like Instaquote.
