Electrical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using

AutoCAD Electrical (E_CAD 2024) and EPLAN.

Prepare detailed Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), control wiring diagrams, and cable

schedules.

Select appropriate electrical components such as circuit breakers, relays, sensors,

actuators, servo motors, drives, and motion control devices based on application

requirements.

Design and document PLC I/O moduleswiring for machine controls.

Generate complete and detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procurement and

manufacturing.

Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards (IEC, NEC, UL, CE) and

machine safety regulations.

Collaborate closely with mechanical designers, controls engineers, and manufacturing

teams for integrated design and execution.

Support prototype assembly and troubleshoot electrical systems during build and

commissioning phases.

Continuously review and optimize electrical designs for performance improvement

and cost efficiency.

Maintain thorough electrical documentation, design revisions, and implement change

management processes.

Participate actively in design reviews and contribute to project planning and execution

with technical insights.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

48 years of hands-on experience in electrical design for manufacturing equipment,

Special Purpose Machine (SPM) or industrial machinery.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical (Preferably E_CAD 2024) and EPLAN for

electrical schematic design.

Strong knowledge in selection and application of electrical components (e.g.,

contactors, relays, sensors, drives, servo motors).

Sound understanding of sensors (proximity, photoelectric, vision sensors) and motion

control devices (servo motors, Drives).

Experience in creating BOMs, SLDs, control panel layouts, machine cabling, wire

duct design, and detailed wiring schematics.

Familiarity with industry standards and practices such as IEC, NEC, UL, and safety

regulations.

Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a structured, methodical

approach to design work.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

environment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in PLC/Automation system integration including basic knowledge of

PLC wiring, I/O module configuration, and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of designing machine safety systems (Emergency Stops, Safety Relays,

Light Curtains, etc.).

Exposure to 3D electrical design tools such as SolidWorks Electrical is an

advantage.

Exposure or understanding of Mechanical Design and Drawings.

Basic understanding of project management principles and working within

structured project environments.
