About the Role
We are seeking an Editorial Automation Specialist (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on editorial workflows, content operations, publishing automation, AI-assisted content production, quality assurance, content management systems (CMS), and AI-generated editorial content evaluation.
In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated editorial workflows, publishing pipelines, automation strategies, content governance frameworks, AI-assisted editing processes, and technical documentation. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for digital publishing, newsroom automation, enterprise content operations, and intelligent editorial workflows.
This position is ideal for professionals with experience in editorial operations, publishing technology, content management, newsroom workflows, marketing content operations, technical publishing, or workflow automation.
Responsibilities
- Review AI-generated editorial workflows, publishing processes, automation pipelines, content lifecycle documentation, editorial policies, and governance recommendations.
- Evaluate enterprise publishing environments involving CMS platforms, approval workflows, version control, metadata management, localization, and digital asset management.
- Verify AI-generated recommendations for editorial review, automated publishing, content scheduling, SEO optimization, workflow orchestration, and quality assurance.
- Assess AI-generated editorial solutions for usability, maintainability, scalability, compliance, and enterprise readiness.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks, content inconsistencies, automation gaps, governance issues, and publishing risks.
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in editorial automation, publishing operations, and content workflow optimization.
- Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Publishing, Media Studies, Information Systems, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in editorial operations, publishing, content management, digital media, newsroom operations, content technology, or workflow automation.
- Managing editorial workflows and publishing operations.
- Working with CMS platforms and content production pipelines.
- Designing or improving editorial review and approval workflows.
- Implementing workflow automation for publishing teams.
- Reviewing AI-generated editorial documentation and publishing recommendations.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted content platforms, publishing analytics, DAM (Digital Asset Management), collaboration tools, and version control systems is preferred.
- Excellent editorial judgment, analytical thinking, documentation, process improvement, and written English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate enterprise publishing workflows.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with publishing houses, media organizations, newsrooms, digital content platforms, marketing agencies, SaaS companies, or enterprise content teams.
- Experience implementing editorial automation, AI-assisted publishing, content governance, localization workflows, or enterprise CMS solutions.
- Experience evaluating AI-generated editorial workflows, publishing documentation, automation strategies, content governance policies, or process improvements.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, AI-assisted writing tools, LLMs, AI benchmarking, RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback), prompt engineering, or AI content governance is highly desirable.
- Experience with scripting or automation using Python, JavaScript, SQL, or low-code/no-code automation platforms is an advantage.
- Professional certifications in content management, digital publishing, project management, Agile, or marketing automation are advantageous.
