About the Role as Director / Vice President — DevOps, Cybersecurity & SRE at MakeMyTrip, you will own the platform reliability, security posture, and DevOps excellence across our large-scale, cloud-native travel ecosystem. You will lead high-performing cross-functional teams, define technology strategy, and safeguard systems trusted by millions of travellers — while enabling rapid business innovation without compromising on security or reliability.
Key Responsibilities
DevOps
- Lead enterprise-wide DevOps transformation and CI/CD pipeline optimization across all engineering teams
- Drive infrastructure-as-code (IaC), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), service mesh, and serverless adoption
- Champion automation in deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure provisioning
- Foster collaboration between development, operations, and QA for fast, reliable releases
Site Reliability Engineering
- Establish and lead the SRE function — defining SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs for critical services
- Own incident management, root cause analysis, and postmortem culture across the organization
- Build observability strategies using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, Dynatrace, or Splunk
Cybersecurity Strategy
- Lead a defense-in-depth cybersecurity strategy across network, cloud, application, data, endpoint, and people layers
- Secure multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) using CNAPP, CIEM, ZTNA, and SASE frameworks
- Harden perimeter defenses — WAF, bot protection, rate limiting, anomaly detection, mTLS
- Integrate application security across SDLC — SAST, DAST, VAPT, IaC scanning, API security, and SBOM
- Protect sensitive data through encryption, tokenization, masking, and anonymization
- Secure GenAI initiatives — input/output validation, prompt injection prevention, and content safety policies
- Drive red teaming, purple teaming, and breach & attack simulations for continuous security validation
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, PCI DSS, SOC2, DPDPA, ISO 27001/27701
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams across DevOps, SRE, and Cybersecurity (30+ person org)
- Partner with CTO, Product, and Business leaders to align platform strategy with OKRs
- Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and tooling decisions
- Report on KPIs, operational health, security posture, and risk to executive leadership
- Build a security-first and reliability-first engineering culture across the organization
What You Need
- 15+ years in IT/engineering with 5+ years in senior leadership roles
- Proven experience running DevOps, SRE, and Cybersecurity programs at scale
- Hands-on expertise across AWS / Azure / GCP, CI/CD tools, and SRE observability platforms
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native security, Zero Trust, application security, and data protection
- Experience with GenAI security challenges — prompt injection, data leakage, model safety
- Excellent communication — translating complex technical risks into business priorities for C-suite
Education B.E./B. Tech | M.S. preferred in Computer Science / Engineering or related field
