OVERVIEW

The Director of Technology role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution, driving the full tech and product vision while ensuring excellence across digital platforms. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and own the tech and product vision aligned with organizations mission, market needs and business goals.
  • Architect and scale secure, user-centric web and mobile platforms to expand welfare access.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across product, design, UX and engineering, fostering a high-performance, innovation-driven culture.
  • Drive agile roadmaps with rapid iteration, ensuring responsiveness to user feedback and policy shifts.
  • Implement best-in-class development practices, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and platform security.
  • Oversee scalable data architecture, ethical data use and actionable analytics.
  • Collaborate with government, operations and fundraising teams to drive product-market fit.
  • Stay ahead of general tech and AI trends to inform strategic decisions and product evolution.
  • Partner closely with the CTO to shape organizational strategy with a strong tech-product lens.

  • Deep experience in building scalable, interoperable digital tools in low-resource, high-impact settings.
  • Strong leadership in product strategy, UX for marginalized users and engineering execution.
