Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and deploy embedded software for the Hue Bridge, which is central to our smart home lighting system.
(If in a lead role) Design software for new features and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
Participate in a multidisciplinary team (including App, Cloud, Bridge, QA) to design features end-to-end, representing the Hue Bridge by understanding its capabilities and constraints.
Engage in technical discussions with partners to jointly optimize the product experience.
Work with the Connectivity Standards Alliance to optimize and test specifications and implementations of Matter to fit use cases.
Analyze data, identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to shaping the product roadmap.
Skills Required:
5+ years of experience in developing embedded device software in C/C++, with a track record of delivering high-quality software to a large customer base.
Experience with C#, BASH, Python, and JavaScript is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in working with Embedded Linux-based platforms.
Knowledge of networking communication protocols such as TCP/UDP, HTTPS, MQTT, mDNS, BLE, and ZigBee.
Soft Skills:
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate closely with partners and colleagues overseas.
Strong affinity with smart home products is an advantage.
Flexibility: Must be adaptable and open to working in a dynamic environment with a focus on innovation and collaboration.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
