- The Design Engineer will be responsible for completing the post order day to day engineering activities.
- This position requires the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, and the ability to learn new tools, techniques and processes.
Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with team members and maintain an inclusive culture in the team
- Updating the changes in applicable Codes and standards.
- Maintain the required competency level for performing the post order engineering activities
- Solving/identifying issues before effect on delivery of milestones
- Creates and reports to the team manager on project deliveries
- Ensure compliance with Indian HSE regulations and other relevant legal standards, contributing to a safe and lawful workplace.
- Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare the engineering deliverables including the designs, drawings and design calculations of heat exchangers, per ASME code requirement/ customer specifications.
- Should be familiar with design of pressure vessels according to ASME Section VIII Div. 1
- Understanding of engineering design process and manufacturing practices.
- Responsible for design of PHE component and Assemblies in 3D/2D
- Prepare the component-wise BoM of PHE s
- Liaison with the third party for appraisal & finalising Design
- Close all customer comments & queries on the Engineering deliverables.
- Should be able to resolve design changes and non-confirming product.
- Support Sales team in pre-order stage and later during Purchase & Manufacturing for resolutions of issues if any.
- Participate in Internal as well as Customer Meetings
- Implement lean principles in engineering and adopt good engineering practices and procedures, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
Skills/Competencies required:
- Able to quickly understand company s Core Values.
- Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, with proficiency in English.
- Hands on experience with AutoCAD 3D/2D drawings.
- Ability to learn new design standards and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Able to present ideas clearly and concisely.
- General understanding of economic factors (cost, profit, impact of decisions) affecting designs along with knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, qualification, and test processes.
- Knowledge of components used in pressure vessel and heat exchanger manufacturing
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- Master s or Bachelor s degree in Mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 4 years relevant work experience in design and engineering of pressure vessels (preferably heat exchangers)
- Having knowledge of ASME / ASTM / API Codes & standards.
- Hands on experience in using ERP, AutoCAD.
