About the Role:
Looking for an experienced Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator to manage and optimize mission-critical PostgreSQL environments supporting Smart Metering, AMI, Head End Systems (HES), and Meter Data Management (MDM) platforms.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PostgreSQL, Timescale DB, High Availability, Linux, Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, and database performance tuning within enterprise production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and optimize PostgreSQL databases in production.
- Design and maintain High Availability (HA), Streaming Replication, Logical Replication, and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Manage backup and recovery using pgBackRest, WAL Archiving, and PITR.
- Optimize SQL queries, indexing, partitioning, and overall database performance.
- Administer Timescale DB for large-scale telemetry and time-series workloads.
- Deploy and support PostgreSQL on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Configure monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and CloudWatch.
- Support Docker and Kubernetes-based deployments.
- Ensure database security, scalability, reliability, and high availability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support enterprise applications and Smart Metering platforms.
