Job Description

As a Data Governance & Data Quality Analyst, you will play a key role in implementing and adopting Amgen's data governance framework, which aims to modernize its data ecosystem and position the company as a leader in biopharma innovation. This role leverages state-of-the-art technologies, including Generative AI and Machine Learning. You will work closely with business stakeholders and data analysts to ensure the successful implementation and adoption of the data governance framework, collaborating with Data Stewards to increase trust and reuse of data across Amgen.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Data Governance Implementation: Contribute to the implementation of the data governance and data management framework for a specific domain of expertise (e.g., Research, Development, Supply Chain).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Assessment: Assess and document stakeholder needs related to data governance, including data quality, access controls, compliance with privacy and security regulations, and master data management.
  • Standard Enforcement: Work with Enterprise MDM and Reference Data teams to enforce standards and promote data reusability.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain documentation on data definitions, standards, data flows, and common data models for assigned domains. You will also partner with business teams to identify compliance requirements for data privacy, security, and regulatory policies.
  • Data Foundation Delivery: Jointly deliver data foundations in collaboration with Technology teams, business functions, and enterprise teams (e.g., MDM, Enterprise Data Fabric).
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for data governance improvements and help resolve data quality problems through appropriate error detection, correction, and process design changes.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
  • General knowledge of data management, common data models, metadata management, data quality, master data management, and data stewardship.
  • General knowledge of the data products development lifecycle, including the enablement of data dictionaries and business glossaries.
  • Knowledge of Pharma processes with specialization in a domain (e.g., Research, Clinical Trials, Commercial) is a plus.
  • Experience working with or supporting systems used for data management (e.g., Collibra, Ataccama Data Quality platform) is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum) is a plus.
