About The Job
We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Migration Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake Data Engineering, SQL modernization, and large-scale migration programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading end-to-end migration initiatives from legacy data platforms to Snowflake using SnowConvert AI and modern cloud-native data engineering practices. This role requires deep technical expertise in Snowflake, SQL conversion, data validation, Medallion Architecture, and a strong understanding of P&C Insurance data domains.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end migration initiatives from legacy SQL-based platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Redshift, and Hive to Snowflake.
- Assess legacy environments including stored procedures, ETL workflows, views, data models, and transformation logic to define migration strategies and execution plans.
- Drive automated SQL conversion using SnowConvert AI and perform manual remediation for complex SQL patterns, recursive logic, dynamic SQL, and platform-specific functions.
- Analyze SnowConvert AI assessment reports, conversion scores, and remediation recommendations to ensure migration accuracy and completeness.
- Design, build, and optimize Snowflake environments including databases, schemas, warehouses, security models, RBAC, stages, Snowpipe, and data-sharing capabilities.
- Architect and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to support scalable and governed enterprise data platforms.
- Develop Python, PySpark, Snowpark, and ELT pipelines to process structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data workloads.
- Build and manage data ingestion frameworks, CDC pipelines, incremental processing, Streams, Tasks, and automated orchestration workflows.
- Implement data quality, reconciliation, and validation frameworks including row-count validation, checksums, statistical comparisons, and automated testing.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, domain SMEs, architects, and QA teams to ensure successful migration outcomes and business sign-offs.
- Optimize Snowflake performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and governance through best practices and continuous improvements.
- Support production cutovers, parallel runs, migration sign-offs, and post-migration stabilization activities.
- Apply P&C Insurance domain knowledge across Policy, Claims, Underwriting, Distribution, and Finance data migration initiatives.
- Mentor team members and contribute to migration accelerators, reusable frameworks, and DataOps best practices.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, ETL Development, or Data Platform Modernization.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake Data Engineering, Administration, and ELT development.
- Strong hands-on experience with SnowConvert AI for automated SQL migration and code conversion.
- Expertise in migrating workloads from SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Redshift, Hive, or other legacy data platforms.
- Advanced SQL expertise including stored procedures, query optimization, performance tuning, and dialect translation.
- Strong programming experience in Python and PySpark for data ingestion, transformation, and validation frameworks.
- Experience designing and implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) in enterprise-scale environments.
- Hands-on experience with Snowpark, Snowflake Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, and CDC implementation patterns.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS and cloud-native data engineering services.
- Strong understanding of data quality, reconciliation, testing, governance, lineage, and migration validation frameworks.
- Working knowledge of P&C Insurance domains including Policy Administration, Claims, Underwriting, Distribution, or Finance.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication skills.
Good to Have
- SnowPro Core Certification or SnowPro Advanced Data Engineer Certification.
- Experience with dbt for transformation development, testing, and deployment.
- Familiarity with ACORD standards and P&C Insurance data models.
- Experience with data catalog and governance platforms such as Alation, Collibra, or Atlan.
- Exposure to Snowflake Cortex and AI-powered data enrichment capabilities.
- Experience working with Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or other P&C core insurance platforms.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, Git-based deployments, DataOps, and automated testing frameworks.
- Understanding of enterprise security, data privacy, and cloud governance best practices.
