Hybrid Working

Structured Hybrid Role

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, anchor, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.


Cyber Security Analyst role resides within the CSO Cryptography team, the individual will be responsible to work on Governance and Risk Management related activities. Provides Cryptography risk and control management advice and guidance. Responsible for Regulator and member scheme cryptography attestation control requirement compliance

What will you be doing

  • Ensure the smooth running of our daily services from initial project engagement through to ensuring our live services remain compliance in line with Barclays Security Standards for our customers.
  • Ensure any existing and newly identified risks are managed in line with Barclays and IIP expectations.
  • Drive robust acceptance policy for all RTB activities requiring crypto solutions.
  • Look for ways to improve the service and use projects and BAU team to implement improvements and enhancements.
  • Actively solicit feedback from stakeholders regarding the performance of the service and where improvements might be made.

What We're Looking For

  • Able to translate underlying technology, security, and infrastructure concepts to business requirements.
  • Good understanding of PKI and or Symmetric / Asymmetric cryptographic key management.
  • Good understanding of Application, Server and Network security.
  • Good Data Analysis skills.
  • Ability to see the big picture and think strategically around data protection services.
  • Strong background in delivering privacy, compliance and data protection services.
  • Understanding of risk - ability to realise there can be multiple risks depending on options and to question SMEs to help get to the best option as well as articulating the residual risk
  • Technical knowledge in relation to risk, particularly around confidentiality, integrity and authenticity
  • Willingness to learn specifically crypto to better understand risks.
  • Strong in incident response procedures and standards, strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex events to management.
  • Minimum education qualification-Graduate

  • Good data analysis skill.
  • Awareness of major internal support functions and services.
  • Awareness of the service delivery impacts on confidentially, integrity and availability.
  • Good understanding of operational IT security monitoring and administration tools.
  • Service First, Confluence experience.
  • Excel experience.
