Job Description

Execute high priority and complex risk and control transformation projects for the firm by using best-in-class project management skills and strong working knowledge of financial services and GS-specific operational risk processes. The role creates an opportunity to design and deliver key operational risk frameworks for the firm, engaging at all stages of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) transformation.

The role is located in Hyderabad as part of the first line of defense Operational Risk & Resilience (ORR) team within the Corporate Planning & Management or CPM. You will be part of a dedicated team whose focus is to strengthen the firm's infrastructure to support the effective management of first line operational risk and resilience across the firm's business services, including enhancing our risk governance processes. You will work closely with divisional risk functions and the second line of defense Operational Risk teams to help deliver the enterprise risk transformation for the firm.

This role will initially focus on a key regulatory program where you will work as part of a workstream to contribute to the delivery of a multi-year strategic initiative. Post this program your role would be to execute the ongoing delivery of the risk and control frameworks developed as part of the transformation project. By performing the role the candidate will acquire detailed knowledge of multiple operational risk management areas within the firm.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential

  • Develop ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes to integrate data from various sources into a centralized data warehouse to provide a comprehensive view of operational and third-party risk across the firm.
  • Use digital analytics and automation tools to analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that may indicate potential risks.
  • Use predictive modeling techniques to forecast future risks and potential impacts on the business.
  • Collaborate with different functions and stakeholders to understand the specific risk management needs, define key risk metrics, and key performance indicators and build reporting solutions to equip the business to action/mitigate the risk.
  • Use BI tools to develop interactive dashboards to visualize key risk indicators and performance metrics.
  • Implementing systems for continuous monitoring of key risk indicators and updating risk profiles in real time.
  • Design and manage data warehouse solution to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Administering and optimizing databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing.
  • Develop and maintain data models; create entity relationship diagrams for databases.
  • Develop and implement scenario modeling techniques to simulate the impact of different risk scenarios.

Basic Qualifications

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Academic Qualifications:
    • A bachelor's or master's degree in analytics/data science (or) any math/statistics/quant background, or
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with proven experience in data engineering/business intelligence tools especially strong understanding of database concepts and data modeling.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as Business Intelligence Specialist or Data Scientist or Risk Management/Reporting Analyst or Risk Modeling Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data integration, data quality framework and ability to design and implement efficient data pipelines. Data Science, Analytics and Automation tools/platforms: Alteryx (preferred), RapidMiner, Informatica, Qliksense or similar
  • Ability to create interactive and insightful visualization dashboards for risk reporting. Visualization Tools: Tableau (preferred), Qlikview, PowerBI
  • Programming languages: Python (Intermediate)
  • Scripting skills for automation and data manipulation (e.g., shell scripting)
  • Proficiency working with relational databases on-prem (Microsoft SQL server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and cloud (Snowflake)
  • Database design: Experience in designing and optimizing database schemas and working with OLTP & OLAP structures. Experience optimizing database structures for performance and reliability.
  • Data Modeling: Expertise in data mining and implementing scalable and efficient Data Models. Experience building conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and experience designing, building, and maintaining data warehouses to facilitate efficient querying and reporting. Experience optimizing data warehouse performance through indexing, partitioning and other techniques.
  • Data Quality: Understanding of data quality best practices and experience in implementing data governance principles.
  • Data Security: Experience implementing security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Understanding of Risk Management principles and methodologies. Experience in creating risk models to identify, assess and quantify potential risks.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Third-Party Risk Management function within a Financial Services Industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in database technologies (e.g., Certified Data Professional), ETL Tools (e.g., Alteryx Core and Advance certified) and BI Platforms (e.g., Tableau desktop specialist)
  • Software Development Kits (SDKs): In depth understanding of the SDKs relevant to the BI Tools used. This includes understanding of SDK documentation, APIs, Web Services and how to leverage them to extend or customize BI functionalities.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark etc.
  • Proficiency in programming language: Java
