About QCI: Quality Council of India (QCI) is the apex Quality body in the country, in partnership with the Indian industry. It is an independent autonomous organization created by the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry. QCI leads a nationwide quality movement in India by involving all stakeholders, with emphasis on adherence to quality standards in products, systems, and services for promoting and protecting national interest and health and safety of its citizens. QCI plays a pivotal role in propagating, adopting, and adherence to quality standards in spheres like education, healthcare, environment, governance, social sectors, infrastructure, and such other areas of organized activities that have a significant bearing in improving the quality of life of the citizens and economic development of the Nation.

Work Location: Gandhinagar, Gujarat (with travel across Gujarat)

Department: Project Planning & Implementation Division (PPID)

Education:

Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines:

oMass Communication

oEnglish / Literature

oMedia Studies

oSociology / Political Science / History (for research-based content)

oMarketing / Public Relations (for lifestyle or business magazines)

Master's degree (Post-Graduation) in Journalism, Communication, or a relevant research field

Professional Certifications in Content Writing, Digital Media Research, or Data Journalism

Desirable Attributes:

Curiosity and attention to detail

Creativity in finding unique story angles

Ethical journalism standards

Adaptability to different magazine genres (fashion, travel, news, etc.)

Team collaboration and confidentiality

Core Skills Required:

Research Skills Data collection, fact-checking, cross-verification, online/offline resource analysis. Editorial Skills Strong grammar, story structuring, copyediting, proofreading, English and/or regional language writing skills.

Analytical Skills Ability to interpret data, surveys, trends, or reports, Strong research and analytical ability.

Communication Skills Clear writing, creative briefs, and data-backed recommendations. Effective co-ordination with writers, editors and designers.

Digital Tools Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, content management systems (CMS), Canva, or InDesign Familiarity with research tools (Google Trends, SEMrush, Meltwater, Social Blade, etc.)

Media Awareness Understanding of current affairs, trends, socio-political context and audience preferences

Time Management Working under tight publishing deadlines

Experience Required:

35years for editorial researcher or senior research associate roles.

Internship or freelance experience with a publishing house, newspaper, or magazine is highly valued.

Experience in working with government campaigns, advertising agencies, or PR firms is a plus.

Ability to interpret data, surveys, trends, or reports, Strong research and analyticalability.

Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, content management systems (CMS), Canva, or InDesign

Familiarity with research tools (Google Trends, SEMrush, Meltwater, SocialBlade,etc.)

Terms of Engagement: Contract basis (Salary Negotiable)
